What is the purpose of Small Groups?
Victory's Small Groups are your source for friendship, fun, and support. They are the key to developing connections with those who share your interests or face similar issues in life. As part of a Small Group, you have the opportunity to reach out to others while growing in your walk with the Lord.
Who can attend a Small Group?
Anyone can attend. You do not have to be a member of Victory to join a small group. You are welcome to join a Small Group at any point during any semester.
Who can lead a Small Group?
To lead a Small Group, you must be a member of Victory Family Church and have attended Small Group Leaders Training at Dream Team 401, which meets the fourth Sunday of every month. Additional Small Group Leaders Training sessions will be held the month before the start of our fall and spring semesters.
When and where are Small Groups held?
Victory's Small Groups meet once a week in homes, businesses, restaurants, or other locations. Small Groups change three times a year—every fall, spring, and summer—so that you have the opportunity to try something new each semester. You are welcome to join a Small Group at any point during any semester.
What kind of Small Groups are available?
Every semester is different. Small Groups can be activity or curriculum based. Some will focus on devotionals or Bible-based studies while others emphasize fun and fellowship around common interests. Check out the current semester's Small Group list today!
Are all children required to be checked in by a parent?
Yes. We place great value on providing your child with a safe environment. To do this effectively, we assign your child an ID number for the day. We give you a copy of this ID number that must be presented when picking up your child. This protects you and your child and ensures that no one else can pick up your child while you are enjoying the service.
I am a first-time guest. How do I register my child?
Onsite registration is easy. Simply stop by one of our check-in counters, and a Dream Team member will assist you with the registration process. Our children's ministry is bustling with children, so we recommend that you arrive 20-30 minutes early if you plan to register onsite. If you would like to register your child before you arrive, submit an online registration form.
If I have an older child and a younger child, can they be in the same room together?
We strongly suggest that each child attend his or her age-specific class. The structure, curriculum, and activities are designed according to age group. We have planned ahead to ensure the best possible experience based on this distinction.
What is taught during Children's Ministry?
It is our first priority to get the Word of God into your child's life, so we are careful to design age-specific lessons for every service.
When will my child advance to the next class?
For Nursery and Preschool classes, children advance to the next age group the first full weekend of the month following their birthday. For example, if your child turns three in June, he or she will move up the first full weekend in July. Students entering first grade will advance to their class the last weekend in August. Students entering seventh grade will advance to Thrive youth ministry for students in grades 7-12 the last weekend in August.
What if my child needs me during the service?
If your child needs you during the service, we will display your child's ID number on the screens located in the sanctuary and on the TVs located throughout the building. This number will be displayed on the screen twice. If no one responds, then your name will go up on the screen. Please respond promptly if your child's number is displayed.
When do you offer Children's Ministry?
- Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
- Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
- First Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.
Endless Possibilities is available during each of these services. If we offer children's ministry during our special events, we will inform you. Child care is available during Growth Track meetings on Sunday evenings as well as during 19north on Saturday nights.
What time can I check in my child into his or her room?
The classrooms open approximately twenty minutes prior to the start of each service.
Are Dream Team members and Parent Volunteers screened?
Yes. We have a rigorous screening process for all Dream Team members and volunteers including a criminal background check. To learn more about serving with us, click Join Our Team on our children's page.
I am nursing my child. What accommodations are available to me?
We have a Nursing Mothers' Room that provides privacy and a venue to experience service while caring for your child. There is a television that displays the main service.
Is it safe to give online?
Yes. Your My Victory account meets the rigorous PCI compliance standards of security and features an encrypted information process (look for the "s" in https). In many ways giving online is safer than writing a check because an electronic contribution cannot be lost or stolen.
From what types of accounts can I give?
You can give from your checking account, debit card, or credit card issued by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover.
Are there any fees involved with giving online?
No. You will not pay any fees with an online contribution.
Can I make a one-time contribution?
Yes. Your My Victory account allows you the option of making a one-time contribution by logging into your account, or giving as a guest without an account.
If I want to set up a recurring contribution, what are my options for frequency of my gift?
You can choose from weekly, every other week, or monthly. You can also set up multiple recurring gifts to further customize (ie. Give a tithe on the 1st and 15th of every month).
Can I change the amount or the frequency of my recurring contribution?
Credit/debit card and checking account information is not stored in your My Victory account at this time. In order to make a change, cancel your existing recurring gift and create a new one. (Please keep in mind that, per IRS regulations, once a gift has been made to the church it cannot be refunded.)
What if I need to change credit card or checking account information?
Credit/debit card and checking account information is not stored in your My Victory account at this time. In order to make a change, cancel your existing recurring gift and create a new one.
Can I review my donation history online?
Yes. Your full giving statement, up to a five-year-history, can be viewed through your My Victory account. This is a complete history and can be used as a quarterly or year-end giving statement for tax purposes. Paper giving statements will no longer be mailed.
Will I still receive regular contribution statements from the church?
No. Because you can now view your full giving history at any time by logging into your My Victory account, we will no longer mail statements. The online statement is complete and usable for tax purposes.
How will I know that I set up my contribution correctly?
From your My Victory account, click on "My Giving" on the right side. This will display all recent gifts and at the top of the screen, you will find a list of your recurring gifts including the dates, amounts, and designations you have selected.
Does it matter which Internet browser I use?
The online giving system works with any browser, including most mobile devices.
I have additional questions about online giving. With whom can I talk?
For any questions, concerns or comments about the online giving system, please contact the accounting department by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 724-453-6200 x 206.
building project (the legacy initiative)+
What is The Legacy Initiative?
It's an opportunity for you to join together and eliminate the additional debt incurred for furnishings, fixtures, and acoustical treatment. Every penny of your giving will be used to reduce principal on the new debt added to the building project. Our goal is to be debt free when this ministry is passed to the next generation.
What has caused the growth at Victory?
This phenomenal growth is a result of multiple factors: a sovereign move of God; divine guidance; improved visibility; having room to grow; strategic planning of events to attract our community; a body of believers committed to reaching and ministering to people; discipleship programs and small groups to help people connect to a local church; and the momentum created by witnessing thousands of people give their lives to Jesus Christ. After moving into our current facility in April 2006, our attendance doubled almost immediately, resulting in the addition of a Saturday evening service.
Can I still make a pledge?
If you desire to make a commitment to the project, your commitment period will begin from the date of your first offering and will be completed on January 31, 2014. You may choose to have your pledge automatically deducted from your checking account or placed on a credit card weekly or monthly. We offer credit card payment as a convenience to you; however, we do not encourage debt. Visit the Give page to set up recurring payments or complete a one-time gift.
Do we have existing debt on our current building?
Yes. We will use wisdom and financially sound methods to reduce debt as we build. All of the funds received through this campaign will go toward the building, whether it be for debt reduction or funding the costs of the new construction.
Now that we have moved into our new sanctuary, what will the former sanctuary be used for?
Construction is underway to convert the former sanctuary into space for our youth.
Couldn't the money for this building expansion be better spent on serving the poor or giving to missions?
One of the things that happens when churches expand is that they are able to do things on a greater scale: more people = more financial resources to do the work of the ministry. Certainly one of our top priorities as a church is supporting missionaries around the world and meeting needs at home. We will continue to keep a focus on aiding various ministries as we build and grow.
What is the plan when the new sanctuary is filled to capacity?
We'll add a second service on Sundays. We'll build additional office space and designate the existing office space as needed. Our prayer is that we never stop growing. Growth represents people having secured their eternity by accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Isn't there a risk of losing intimacy as Victory grows larger?
Unity in faith and singleness of purpose create an atmosphere for intimacy. When people work together toward the same purpose, they build and form friendships in Christ that meet the relational needs with which we were all created. Our plan for eliminating the loss of intimacy concern is to encourage people to complete the Growth Track, participate regularly in Small Groups, and find an area to serve on the Dream Team.
How long are your services?
On average, services last 75 minutes. We have one Saturday evening service and one Sunday service. As we grow, we will expand the times for services on weekends.
Will Victory accept items such as stocks, bonds, property, etc.?
Yes. These types of assets may be given through our accounting office. You may contact the accounting office by calling the church or by emailing us at email@example.com.
