Available Positions
Administrative Assistant
Part-time position. Candidate must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Publisher, and be very detail-oriented.
As part of the questions section, you will be required to upload a file that is a sample letter. Before beginning the questions, compose a letter to someone who called or wrote the church requesting help in their finances. Explain in words that would reflect the heart of Pastor John and Michelle that we are unable to help them at this time. (Note: Our Benevolence Policy states that people must be a member of our church and tithe on a regular basis in order to qualify for benevolence.) Please make your file either a Word doc or PDF file.

Title of Position: Administrative Assistant
Purpose of position: To assist in completing all clerical/secretarial/miscellaneous projects necessary to aid in the day-to-day operations of Victory
Reports to: Kathy Spencer - Office Manager
Relates closely with: Kathy Spencer, Office Staff, Volunteers
Responsible for: General clerical/secretarial projects as assigned, Lending Library maintenance, Create and maintain CD Media catalogs
Approximate Salary: Hourly rate in line with position

General Information: Duties will vary from day to day as projects come. Personal relationships with church members will change.
Continuing Responsibilities:
- Youth/19north Admin:
- Youth attendance
- First-Time Guest follow-up for 19north
- Order supplies, food, & equipment as needed
- Enter purchase orders and check requests
- Make reservations
- Handle youth fundraisers
- Gather information and oversee details of youth events (summer camp, Acquire the Fire, etc.)
- Meeting setup/teardown
- Handle the youth/19north petty cash
- Communicate changes and details via Facebook/Twitter
- Monitor and proof 19north and Thrive websites
- Assist in clerical/secretarial projects as assigned
- Duplicate & finish publication projects (brochures)
- Update Lending Library as needed
- Maintain magazine/catalog files
- Send Email blasts for church
Rotational Duties:
- Typing of documents for any pastor/staff department leader
- Assist with setup for trainings, meetings, receptions
- Update & print ministry guidelines, manuals, etc.
- Communion process
- Baby dedication process
- Water baptism process

Custodian
Full time position. Responsible for the care and maintenance of all grounds of building and all grounds owned by the church.

Title of Position: Custodian/Grounds Keeper
Purpose of position: To maintain church facilities for planned church activities and events and responsible for care and maintenance of grounds of church
Reports to: Facilities Director
Relates closely with: Staff and pastoral staff, volunteers, department leaders: Michelle Nuzzo and Dana Moore
Responsible for: (brief summary of duties, not all inclusive)
- Care and maintenance of building and grounds
- Set up areas for regular activities; move furniture and set up tables and chairs for events and special meetings with the aid of volunteers
- Prepare facilities for special use as requested by director
- Prepare baptistery for use as directed and clean following use
- Mow grass according to schedule; water lawn and shrubs; trim shrubbery; edge and blow walks and curbs; weed flower beds as needed; maintain church entrances, sidewalks, and parking areas in a clean and orderly manner
- Snow removal, as needed: keep sidewalks, entrances, curbs, parking lots free from snow and ice
- Keep sidewalks free from animal droppings at all times
- Load and unload supplies, materials, equipment, and furniture from delivery trucks as needed
- Paint interior according to schedule provided by Facilities Director
- Develop and utilize volunteers to assist as much as possible
- Other duties as directed by the Facilities Director

Facilities Director
Full time position. Direct the following facilities management programs of the church: maintenance, housekeeping, grounds, and vehicles. Responsible for care and use of all church-owned facilities including building, grounds, equipment, and vehicles. Prior management experience is helpful but not required.

Title of Position: Facilities Director
Purpose of position: To oversee all building and grounds preparations and maintenance; responsible for the care and use of all church-owned or leased facilities, which includes all buildings, grounds, equipment, furnishings, and vehicles.
Reports to: Pastor Chris Palmer
Relates closely with: Cleaning & grounds-keeping staff, volunteers (must lead through volunteers), pastoral and office staff, department head, including Michelle Nuzzo/Dana Moore
Responsible for directing and overseeing the following facilities management programs of the church: (brief summary of duties, not all inclusive)
- Oversight of maintenance
- Oversight of housekeeping
- Oversight of grounds maintenance
- Purchasing and receiving of maintenance/cleaning supplies
- Oversight of vehicles
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations relating to church facilities.
Continuing Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate delegation of daily maintenance/grounds work requests and follow up
- BUILDING/MAINTENANCE:
- Develop a team of volunteers to assist in setting up and taking down tables, etc. for events and church functions.
- Plan and implement a recurring periodic cleaning and painting schedule which includes all interior and exterior windows, walls, woodwork, floors, carpets, and other areas.
- Operate and maintain all mechanical equipment, including air and heat units. Oversee all repairs in electrical, plumbing, and sewer services.
- Schedule periodic cleaning of all carpet and vinyl floor coverings.
- Supervise the operations of the energy management system.
- Have fire extinguishers serviced and checked periodically and have a current tag indicating last date of service.
- Oversee fire, safety, and security equipment, and work with fire, police, and other public officials regarding church property matters.
- Cross train LSS and staff on fire alarm and HVAC systems.
- Keep informed of the church calendar and schedule proper set ups for each occasion and see that maintenance and housekeeping work are done accordingly.
- GROUNDS:
- See that the church building and grounds are well kept at all times.
- Coordinate grounds workdays and other volunteer efforts to improve and/or maintain the grounds.
- Schedule mowing, edging, trimming, weeding, etc., on a regular basis so that we maintain a well-manicured look at all times
- Oversee and schedule cleaning of all walks, curbs, drives, and parking lots regularly and as needed
- Schedule and coordinate fertilizing, spraying, seeding, mulching, and plant replacement to enhance the beauty of the grounds.
- Service all equipment used regularly by grounds maintenance staff. This applies to preventative (planned) maintenance as well as breakdown maintenance. Achieve minimal downtime on equipment.
- Coordinate Grounds Workdays and other volunteer efforts to improve and/or maintain the grounds.
- Schedule and direct any pest control program necessary.
- Develop procedural and/or operational manuals on equipment and/or major work tasks as set forth.
- Inventory and maintain tools relative to the outlined tasks.
- Be knowledgeable of the use of chemicals for ground maintenance including herbicides and fertilizer.
- Create and follow a schedule of preventative maintenance for all equipment and facilities.
- Regularly inspect work
- Develop and monitor operational policies regarding church facilities.
- Develop, maintain, and implement a Facilities Operational Procedures Manual.
- Follow a plan of inspection to check compliance with approved policies and procedures in the maintenance of all facilities and equipment.
- Program improvements and any extraordinary maintenance required.
- Recommend purchase of necessary equipment and other improvements pertaining to property and equipment.
- Provide weekly progress and completed work assignment reports to Pastor Chris.
- Provide Monthly Team Communication Report and status of staff team members
- Coordinate use of vehicles by staff and/or volunteers.
- Develop, maintain, and implement a central purchasing and receiving department for church-wide use.
- Prepare the annual general operating budget relating to the operations of facilities and grounds.
- Maintain a perpetual inventory of all church-owned equipment and furnishings.
- Cross train custodian/maintenance/LSS among themselves and within their areas to ensure full productivity during vacation and illness periods. Duplicate yourself and your team.
- Review work schedules of all areas under your supervision to ensure proper staffing.
